Antoine Saout: Two-Time WSOP Main Event Finalist With $10 Million+ in Live Earnings
POKER HALL OF FAME
Inducted 2014
Antoine Saout has built one of the most distinctive World Series of Poker Main Event records of his generation. The French tournament professional finished third in the 2009 Main Event and returned to the championship final table eight years later, placing fifth in 2017.
Those two performances account for more than $5.4 million in prize money, but Saout's career extends well beyond his Main Event runs. He has accumulated more than $10 million in recorded live tournament earnings, reached major final tables in Europe, Australia and the United States, and finished runner-up in the 2022 European Poker Tour Prague Main Event.
As of October 19, 2026, The Hendon Mob lists Saout with $10,452,188 in live tournament earnings and a career-best cash of $3,479,670. Tournament databases change as new results are recorded, so those totals should be treated as a snapshot of his career at that time.
⠀
Who Is Antoine Saout?
Antoine Saout is a French professional poker player from Morlaix, France. Hendon Mob lists London, England, as his residence.
Saout emerged as an international tournament name during the 2009 World Series of Poker, only a short time after beginning his poker career. According to WSOP's 2009 profile of Saout, the former engineering student qualified for the Main Event through a $50 online satellite.
His background in online poker and his confidence in his mathematical and analytical abilities helped prepare him for tournament play. What followed was a breakthrough that immediately placed him on poker's biggest stage.
⠀
Antoine Saout's 2009 WSOP Main Event Breakthrough
Saout entered the 2009 WSOP Main Event as a relatively unknown player and emerged as one of the tournament's biggest stories.
The $10,000 championship attracted 6,494 entries. Saout survived the field to reach the November Nine, the delayed final-table format the WSOP used at the time.
His achievement was particularly notable because of the path he took to Las Vegas. Rather than buying directly into the Main Event, Saout earned his opportunity through an inexpensive online satellite.
Before returning to Las Vegas for the November final table, he demonstrated that his Main Event run was not an isolated result. Saout reached the 2009 World Series of Poker Europe Main Event final table in London and finished seventh for £114,228.
He then returned to Las Vegas and made a serious run at the world championship.
Saout ultimately finished third in the 2009 WSOP Main Event for $3,479,670, which remains his largest recorded live tournament cash. Joe Cada went on to win the championship.
The result transformed Saout from a relatively inexperienced tournament player into an established international professional.
⠀
A Second Deep WSOP Main Event Run
Saout continued playing major tournaments after his 2009 breakthrough, and the Main Event remained a recurring part of his career.
In 2016, he again navigated deep into the $10,000 championship. He finished 25th from a field of 6,737 entries and collected $269,430.
That result was significant on its own, but Saout went considerably further the following summer.
⠀
Antoine Saout Returns to the WSOP Main Event Final Table in 2017
Eight years after reaching the November Nine, Saout made another WSOP Main Event final table.
The 2017 championship drew 7,221 entries. The World Series of Poker's final-table announcement highlighted Saout as one of two former November Niners returning to the championship final table that year.
Saout entered the final nine seventh in chips and advanced to fifth place.
His tournament ended against eventual champion Scott Blumstein. Saout held trip jacks on the final hand, but Blumstein's straight won the pot. The fifth-place finish paid Saout $2 million.
Reaching the final table of poker's largest annual championship twice, eight years apart, established Main Event consistency as a defining feature of Saout's tournament record.
⠀
Antoine Saout's Other Major Tournament Results
Although his two WSOP Main Event final tables are his best-known accomplishments, Saout has produced major results across several international tours.
In 2014, he finished fourth in the World Poker Tour UK Main Event at Dusk Till Dawn in Nottingham. The World Poker Tour lists Saout with one WPT Main Tour final table, three Main Tour cashes and no WPT titles.
He added another deep European championship run in 2016 when he finished seventh in the European Poker Tour Grand Final Main Event in Monte Carlo for €128,340.
In January 2017, Saout placed third in the A$25,000 Challenge at the Aussie Millions for A$383,040. Months later came his second WSOP Main Event final table and the $2 million score that accompanied it.
Another major career result arrived at EPT Prague in December 2022.
Saout reached heads-up play in the €5,300 EPT Prague Main Event before finishing second to Jordan Saccucci. A heads-up deal resulted in Saout collecting €800,000, one of the largest tournament payouts of his career.
⠀
How Much Has Antoine Saout Won in Poker?
As of October 19, 2026, Hendon Mob lists Antoine Saout with $10,452,188 in live tournament earnings.
His largest recorded live cash remains the $3,479,670 he earned for finishing third in the 2009 WSOP Main Event.
Other major payouts include:
$2,000,000 for fifth place in the 2017 WSOP Main Event
€800,000 for second place in the 2022 EPT Prague Main Event
$269,430 for 25th place in the 2016 WSOP Main Event
A$383,040 for third place in the 2017 Aussie Millions A$25,000 Challenge
£114,228 for seventh place in the 2009 WSOP Europe Main Event
Live earnings totals can vary slightly among poker databases because of currency conversions and differences in which results are recorded. Hendon Mob is used here as the primary source for Saout's live tournament earnings. Those totals represent gross cashes, not profit or net worth, and do not deduct buy-ins, expenses or staking arrangements.
⠀
Does Antoine Saout Have a WSOP Bracelet?
Antoine Saout has not won a World Series of Poker bracelet.
As of September 2026, Saout's official WSOP profile lists zero bracelet victories and zero WSOP Circuit rings.
That makes his WSOP record unusual. Saout's career includes two Main Event final tables and millions of dollars in championship earnings without a bracelet victory.
His deepest Main Event finish remains third place in 2009, followed by fifth place in 2017.
⠀
Does Antoine Saout Have a WPT or EPT Title?
Saout has not won a World Poker Tour Main Tour title. His best WPT Main Tour finish listed by the tour is fourth place in the 2014 WPT UK Main Event.
He also has not won an EPT Main Event title. His closest finish came at EPT Prague in 2022, where he reached heads-up play before finishing second.
Those near-misses illustrate an important distinction in Saout's career. His reputation is based less on collecting a long list of major-tour titles than on repeatedly making exceptionally deep runs in some of poker's most important championship events.
⠀
Antoine Saout's Playing Style and Tournament Strengths
Saout's career has been built primarily around tournament poker, particularly No-Limit Hold'em.
Contemporary coverage of his 2009 breakthrough described a player who drew confidence from mathematics, analytical thinking and his experience playing online sit-and-go tournaments. Those skills translated quickly to live tournament poker.
His career results provide stronger evidence of his tournament strengths than subjective labels about how aggressively or conservatively he plays. Saout has repeatedly survived large fields and maintained deep runs through the later stages of major championships.
Few results demonstrate that more clearly than his WSOP Main Event record. Finishing third in 2009, 25th in 2016 and fifth in 2017 required three extended runs through fields containing thousands of players.
⠀
Why Antoine Saout Matters in Poker
Saout's significance comes primarily from the longevity and depth of his tournament results.
His 2009 breakthrough was an example of the opportunities created by online satellite qualification. A relatively inexpensive route into the WSOP Main Event ultimately led to a third-place finish worth nearly $3.5 million.
His return to the Main Event final table in 2017 added another dimension to that story. Rather than being remembered only for one breakthrough tournament, Saout demonstrated that he could return to poker's world championship years later and contend again.
His international record also spans the WSOP, WSOP Europe, EPT, WPT, Aussie Millions and numerous other tournament festivals.
That combination of longevity, major-event consistency and more than $10 million in recorded live earnings has kept Saout relevant well beyond the tournament that first made him internationally known.
⠀
Is Antoine Saout Still Playing Poker?
Yes. Available tournament records show that Antoine Saout remained active in major live events during 2026.
His 2026 results included a fourth-place finish in a €3,000 WSOP International Circuit Amsterdam High Roller, followed by multiple cashes during the summer in Las Vegas.
At the 2026 World Series of Poker, Saout recorded cashes in several events, including a 42nd-place finish in the $5,000 Six-Handed No-Limit Hold'em event for $21,062 and a 59th-place finish in the $1,000 Mystery Millions for $20,350.
He also cashed for $26,945 in the $10,400 Wynn Summer Championship.
Those results show that, more than 17 years after the beginning of his recorded live tournament career, Saout continued competing on the international tournament circuit in 2026.
