Bin Weng: WPT Champion, 2023 GPI Player of the Year and Three-Time WSOP Circuit Ring Winner
POKER HALL OF FAME
Inducted 2014
Bin Weng emerged as one of the most successful U.S.-based tournament players of the 2020s, highlighted by a remarkable 2023 season that included a World Poker Tour title, victory in the WPT EveryOne for One Drop special event and Player of the Year honors from both the World Poker Tour and Global Poker Index.
His career has continued well beyond that breakout year. As of September 2026, Hendon Mob lists Weng with more than $10.15 million in live tournament earnings and a career-best cash of $2,227,054. The World Series of Poker lists him with three WSOP Circuit rings and no WSOP bracelets as of the same period.
⠀
Who Is Bin Weng?
Bin Weng is a tournament poker professional who represents the United States in major poker databases and has been described by the World Poker Tour as a native of China who established his career in the Philadelphia area.
Weng's recorded live tournament results date to the mid-2010s, but his rise accelerated after he began playing poker full time. When he won his first WPT title in 2023, he told the tour that capturing a WPT championship had been one of his primary goals since becoming a full-time player in 2019.
No-Limit Hold'em has produced the overwhelming majority of Weng's biggest tournament results. His résumé includes success in large-field championship events, regional tournaments, high rollers and major series on the WPT and WSOP Circuit.
⠀
Bin Weng's Breakthrough and 2023 Rise
The year 2023 transformed Weng's career.
He began the year with a seven-figure victory at The Return Championship at Borgata in Atlantic City. The run continued in February when he won the $1,700 WSOP Circuit Main Event at Horseshoe Las Vegas.
Weng defeated a field of 833 entries in that Circuit Main Event and earned $227,344. He beat Alex Foxen heads-up for what the WSOP identified as Weng's first Circuit ring.
His World Poker Tour results soon pushed his season to another level.
Weng qualified for consecutive WPT final tables while holding the chip lead in both. He first returned for the televised final table of the WPT Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown, then was scheduled to play the WPT Choctaw final table the following day.
At the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown, Weng converted that opportunity into his first official WPT Main Tour title. The $3,500 championship attracted 2,290 entries and generated a $7,328,000 prize pool. Weng collected $1,128,250 and joined the WPT Champions Club.
He followed that victory with a fourth-place finish at WPT Choctaw for $143,000.
⠀
WPT EveryOne for One Drop and Weng's Largest Cash
Less than two months after winning his first WPT Main Tour title, Weng captured another major event associated with the tour.
In July 2023, he won the inaugural WPT EveryOne for One Drop at Wynn Las Vegas. Weng defeated Scott Baumstein heads-up and earned $2,227,054.
That payout remains Weng's largest recorded live tournament cash according to Hendon Mob as of September 2026.
The distinction between the two WPT victories is important. The World Poker Tour's current player statistics credit Weng with one WPT Main Tour title: the 2023 Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown. EveryOne for One Drop was classified by WPT as a special event rather than a Main Tour championship for its career-title and Player of the Year systems.
⠀
2023 GPI and WPT Player of the Year
Weng's consistency throughout 2023 resulted in two of the year's major individual honors.
The World Poker Tour named Weng its Season XXI Player of the Year after he accumulated 2,175 qualifying points from four cashes. His Seminole Hard Rock victory and fourth-place WPT Choctaw finish supplied most of those points.
He also finished first in the 2023 Global Poker Index Player of the Year race. GPI credited Weng with 5,008.99 points, six tournament wins, 20 top-10 finishes and 55 qualifying results during the year.
Hendon Mob records more than $6.66 million in live tournament earnings for Weng during 2023 alone.
Late in the year, he added another major score at the WPT World Championship festival at Wynn Las Vegas, winning a $25,700 high roller for $958,279.

Major Poker Accomplishments
Weng's career achievements include:
2023 WPT Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown champion for $1,128,250
2023 WPT EveryOne for One Drop special-event champion for $2,227,054
Season XXI WPT Player of the Year
2023 Global Poker Index Player of the Year
Three WSOP Circuit rings as of September 2026
More than $10.15 million in recorded live tournament earnings as of September 2026
Career-best live cash of $2,227,054
Back-to-back WPT final tables as chip leader during the 2023 season
These results established Weng across several levels of tournament poker rather than through one isolated championship.
⠀
Bin Weng's WSOP and WSOP Circuit Record
Weng's first WSOP Circuit victory came in February 2023 at Horseshoe Las Vegas. According to the WSOP's report on the tournament, he overcame an 833-entry field to win the Main Event and $227,344.
His WSOP record continued to grow in subsequent seasons. As of September 2026, the WSOP's official player database credits Weng with three Circuit rings, 73 cashes across WSOP-branded competition and 19 final tables.
The same database lists zero WSOP bracelets. His three Circuit rings are therefore separate from the bracelets awarded for victories in WSOP bracelet events.
⠀
Bin Weng's WPT Record
The World Poker Tour's current career records list Weng with one Main Tour title and three Main Tour final tables.
His defining Main Tour championship remains the 2023 Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown, but his overall WPT-related earnings extend beyond that victory. His résumé also includes the $2,227,054 EveryOne for One Drop special-event win and the $958,279 high-roller victory during the 2023 WPT World Championship festival.
Those results helped make the WPT a central part of Weng's career, even though the tour classifies them across different event categories.
⠀
Career Earnings and Largest Tournament Cash
As of September 2026, Hendon Mob lists Bin Weng with $10,158,397 in recorded live tournament earnings.
His largest single recorded cash is the $2,227,054 he earned for winning WPT EveryOne for One Drop in July 2023.
Live earnings totals and all-time rankings are not permanent statistics. They change whenever additional tournament results are reported and added to poker databases, so Weng's career total should be treated as a September 2026 snapshot rather than a lifetime final figure.
⠀
Playing Style and Tournament Reputation
Weng's tournament record is strongest in No-Limit Hold'em, particularly in multi-table events requiring players to navigate large fields over several days.
Rather than assigning him a subjective label such as loose-aggressive or tight-aggressive without consistent supporting analysis, his results provide a clearer description of his competitive profile. He has won large-field championships, regional Main Events and high-stakes tournaments while also producing the volume of deep finishes required to win season-long Player of the Year races.
The 2023 season demonstrated that combination especially well. Weng's success came through repeated final tables and victories across different venues and buy-in levels rather than from a single major score.
⠀
Why Bin Weng Matters in Tournament Poker
Weng's 2023 season stands as the central achievement of his career because it combined championship victories with sustained performance over an entire calendar year.
Winning both the WPT Player of the Year and GPI Player of the Year honors measured success in different ways. The WPT award reflected his performance within that tour's qualifying events, while the GPI race incorporated a broader schedule of live tournament results.
His back-to-back WPT final-table chip leads also became one of the signature stretches of that season. Weng won the first of those final tables and finished fourth in the second before adding the EveryOne for One Drop victory later in the summer.
By surpassing $10 million in recorded live earnings in 2026, he added another career milestone to a résumé already defined by titles and year-long consistency.
⠀
Bin Weng's Current Status
Weng remains an active tournament player in 2026.
His recent schedule includes WSOP events and tournaments in the Northeast. In September 2026, he finished 12th in the $2,200 Big, Big Kick Off at Borgata, earning $12,275 from a 456-entry field.
That result came after additional tournament cashes during the summer and provides recent evidence that Weng continues to compete regularly several years after his 2023 breakout.
As of September 2026, his career résumé includes more than $10 million in live earnings, one official WPT Main Tour championship, three WSOP Circuit rings and both the 2023 GPI and WPT Player of the Year awards.
