Simon produced the biggest result of his career during the 2023 World Series of Poker.
He entered Event #62, the $1,500 Mixed No-Limit Hold'em/Pot-Limit Omaha tournament, and survived a field of 2,076 entries. The format alternated between two of poker's most widely played big-bet games, requiring competitors to adjust between two-card No-Limit Hold'em and four-card Pot-Limit Omaha.
Simon reached heads-up play against established bracelet winner David Prociak. Prociak began the match with a substantial chip advantage, but Simon recovered from a short-stack situation and eventually took control.
The final hand came in Pot-Limit Omaha. Simon's pair held against Prociak's draw, securing the bracelet and the $410,659 first-place prize.
The victory was Simon's first WSOP bracelet and represented a dramatic increase over his previous career-best tournament cash.

Why the 2023 Bracelet Was a Career Breakthrough
Simon had tournament experience before 2023, but the bracelet changed the scale of his recorded accomplishments.

He finished second to Thomas Taylor in Event #3, a $600 Pot-Limit Omaha tournament with 451 entries. Simon earned $29,699.
Only days later, the same two players met heads-up again.
Taylor defeated Simon in Event #6, an $800 Pot-Limit Omaha tournament with 247 entries. Simon collected another $25,549 for his second consecutive runner-up finish in a PLO event at the same Circuit series.
Neither result earned Simon a Circuit ring, leaving his official WSOP ring count at zero, but the back-to-back final tables added more than $55,000 in combined payouts and reinforced the Omaha component of his tournament record.
