POKER HALL OF FAME
Inducted 2014

Davidi Kitai has built one of the most accomplished tournament résumés in Belgian poker history. The Brussels-born professional owns three World Series of Poker bracelets, a World Poker Tour title and a European Poker Tour Main Event championship, giving him poker’s coveted Triple Crown of victories across the WSOP, WPT and EPT.

As of September 2026, The Hendon Mob lists Kitai with more than $12 million in live tournament earnings and a career-best live cash of $930,816. He remains an active tournament player, with recorded results across the EPT, WSOP and other international series during 2026.

⠀

Who Is Davidi Kitai?

Davidi Jacob Kitai is a Belgian professional poker player from Brussels. He has competed internationally for more than two decades and developed a career that spans major live tournaments, high rollers and several forms of hold’em.

Kitai’s early poker development included time in Los Angeles in 2003, where he had originally traveled to improve his English. Poker became a larger part of his life, and by the middle of the decade he was recording tournament results on the international circuit.

His emergence became particularly significant for Belgian poker. In 2008, Kitai became the first player from Belgium to win a World Series of Poker bracelet, beginning a run of major titles that eventually included victories on all three of poker’s traditionally recognized major tournament tours.

Davidi Kitai’s WSOP Bracelets

According to the World Series of Poker, Kitai has won three WSOP bracelets and has no WSOP Circuit rings as of September 2026.

First Bracelet: 2008 $2,000 Pot-Limit Hold’em

Kitai’s first bracelet came at the 2008 WSOP in the $2,000 Pot-Limit Hold’em event. He defeated Chris Bell heads-up to become the first Belgian bracelet winner in WSOP history.

The WSOP’s final event report records a $244,546 payout for the victory, which established Kitai as one of Belgium’s leading tournament players.

Second Bracelet: 2013 $5,000 Pot-Limit Hold’em

Five years later, Kitai returned to the WSOP winner’s circle in the $5,000 Pot-Limit Hold’em event.

He defeated Cary Katz heads-up and earned $224,560. The victory made Kitai the first Belgian player to win multiple WSOP bracelets.

Third Bracelet: 2014 $3,000 Six-Handed No-Limit Hold’em

Kitai added his third bracelet at the 2014 WSOP in the $3,000 Six-Handed No-Limit Hold’em event.

The tournament attracted 810 entries and generated a prize pool of more than $2.2 million. Kitai defeated Gordon Vayo heads-up and collected $508,640, which remains one of the largest WSOP scores of his career.

Davidi Kitai’s WPT Title

Kitai became a World Poker Tour champion at the 2011 WPT Celebrity Invitational at the Commerce Casino in California.

He defeated International Chess Master Almira Skripchenko heads-up to win the tournament and a $100,000 prize package, including a $25,500 entry into the WPT World Championship, according to the official winner report. The World Poker Tour records the victory as a WPT Special Event title and identifies Kitai as a member of the WPT Champions Club.

Kitai later reached another major WPT final table at WPT Mazagan in 2012, finishing fourth.

⠀

EPT Berlin and Poker’s Triple Crown

The defining title of Kitai’s career came at the 2012 European Poker Tour Berlin Main Event.

Kitai entered a 745-entry field in the €5,000 Main Event and ultimately defeated Andrew Chen heads-up. The victory earned him €712,000, equivalent to $930,816 in The Hendon Mob database and still his largest recorded live tournament cash.

Winning EPT Berlin completed Kitai’s poker Triple Crown because he had already captured a WSOP bracelet and a WPT title.

The Triple Crown is an informal but widely recognized achievement awarded to players who have won titles at the WSOP, WPT and EPT. Kitai is part of a small group of players to accomplish all three.

His EPT Berlin run also reinforced a reputation for making difficult reads under pressure. During the final table, PokerNews documented several major calls by Kitai, including a pivotal river decision against Chen that helped move him back into the chip lead.

⠀

Other Major Tournament Results

Kitai’s career extends well beyond his three bracelets and Triple Crown victories.

One of his biggest later wins came at the 2018 partypoker LIVE MILLIONS Grand Final in Barcelona. Kitai won a €25,500 Super High Roller that drew 90 entries, earning €700,000 after defeating Juan Pardo heads-up.

During the same Barcelona festival, he also reached the final table of the €10,300 MILLIONS Main Event and finished seventh for another €325,000.

Other major results on his record include a third-place finish in the 2008 EPT Barcelona Main Event and a third-place result in a €25,000 EPT Monte Carlo High Roller in 2014.

Those finishes, combined with sustained results across Europe and Las Vegas, helped Kitai move beyond $12 million in recorded live tournament earnings.

⠀

Playing Style and Poker Reputation

Kitai has competed successfully across full-ring tournaments, six-handed events, pot-limit hold’em and high-roller fields.

His bracelet record demonstrates particular success in short-handed and pot-limit hold’em formats. His broader tournament history also includes results in no-limit hold’em and pot-limit Omaha.

Kitai has developed a reputation for unconventional lines and difficult calls rather than relying on a single identifiable tournament style. Some of his best-known televised and reported hands involve making decisions with relatively marginal holdings after carefully working through an opponent’s betting line.

That willingness to play complicated pots has been a recognizable part of his tournament career, but his longevity is equally important. Kitai has continued producing recorded cashes through several different eras of modern tournament poker.

⠀

Career Earnings and Largest Cash

As of September 2026, The Hendon Mob lists Kitai with more than $12 million in live tournament earnings.

His largest recorded live cash is $930,816, the U.S.-dollar value attached to his €712,000 victory in the 2012 EPT Berlin Main Event.

Tournament earnings databases measure reported live tournament results and can change whenever new results are added or historical records are updated. They should not be interpreted as a player’s profit because they do not subtract tournament buy-ins, travel expenses, staking arrangements or other costs.
