Jake Cody: Poker Triple Crown Winner and 2025 SHRPO Champion
POKER HALL OF FAME
Inducted 2014
Jake Cody built one of the fastest rises to poker’s major-title elite, winning European Poker Tour and World Poker Tour championships in 2010 before adding a World Series of Poker bracelet in 2011. Those three victories completed poker’s Triple Crown while Cody was still 22. More than a decade later, the English professional returned to the winner’s circle in a major way by capturing the 2025 Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open Championship for $510,850.
⠀
Who Is Jake Cody?
Jake Cody is an English poker professional from Rochdale, England, whose live tournament record dates to 2009. His career has been centered primarily on no-limit hold’em, with results spanning the EPT, WPT, WSOP and major independent tournament series.
Cody is best known for completing poker’s Triple Crown: winning an EPT Main Event, a WPT Main Event and a WSOP bracelet. PokerStars has credited him with becoming both the youngest and fastest player to complete the achievement, finishing the three-title run in approximately 17 months.
As of September 16, 2026, Hendon Mob lists Jake Cody with $5,191,077 in live tournament earnings. Tournament earnings databases change as new results are added, so that figure should be treated as a current snapshot rather than a permanent career total.
⠀
Jake Cody’s Breakthrough at EPT Deauville
Cody’s career changed rapidly in January 2010 when he won the European Poker Tour Deauville Main Event in France. The tournament drew 768 entries, and the victory produced the largest live cash of his career.
Hendon Mob records the result as worth $1,213,193 after currency conversion. More importantly for Cody’s long-term career, the victory established him as an EPT Main Event champion during the early stages of his live tournament career.
The title became the first leg of a Triple Crown run that would be completed in less than a year and a half.
⠀
WPT London Adds the Second Major Title
Cody followed his EPT breakthrough with another major championship in 2010, winning the WPT London Poker Classic Main Event.
The World Poker Tour’s official event record lists Cody as the champion with a $425,492 payout. Hendon Mob records the original payout as £273,783.
Winning an EPT and WPT title in the same year left Cody one major accomplishment short of poker’s Triple Crown.
⠀
Cody Completes the Triple Crown With a WSOP Bracelet
Cody completed the Triple Crown at the 2011 World Series of Poker in Las Vegas.
He entered the $25,000 Heads-Up No-Limit Hold’em Championship, a 128-player event built around direct one-on-one matches. Cody advanced through the bracket and defeated Yevgeniy Timoshenko in the championship match.
The victory earned Cody $851,192 and his first WSOP bracelet. The World Series of Poker continues to list Cody with one career bracelet and no WSOP Circuit rings.
Cody was 22 when he completed the Triple Crown. PokerStars later identified him as both the youngest player to accomplish the feat and the fastest, completing the sequence from his EPT victory to his WSOP bracelet in one year, four months and 11 days.
⠀
Major Poker Accomplishments
Cody’s career is defined by a relatively small group of tournament victories with substantial historical significance.

One WPT title, won at the 2010 WPT London Poker Classic Main Event
One EPT title, won at the 2010 EPT Deauville Main Event

Jake Cody’s 2025 Tournament Return
Cody’s tournament schedule became less intensive during the later stages of his career, with Seminole Hard Rock Poker reporting in 2025 that he had been concentrating more heavily on cash games.
His return to tournament success that year was significant.
In April 2025, Cody won a $2,200 Deep Stack No-Limit Hold’em event during the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown. The tournament attracted 219 entries and generated a $438,000 prize pool. Cody defeated Kevin Eyster heads-up and collected $93,900.
Four months later, he produced an even larger result.
The $5,300 Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open Championship drew 889 entries and created a $4,311,650 prize pool. Cody entered the final stages with a commanding stack and eventually reached a three-player agreement with Jeremy Wien and Stephen Song.
The deal officially left Cody as champion with a $510,850 payout. The Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open recorded the victory as Cody’s first SHRPO Championship title.
The result pushed his Hendon Mob career earnings beyond $5 million and gave him one of the largest tournament scores of his career more than 14 years after completing the Triple Crown.
⠀
Playing Style and Poker Strengths
Cody’s tournament record is most strongly associated with no-limit hold’em.
His 2011 WSOP bracelet provides particularly clear evidence of his success in heads-up competition. Winning a dedicated $25,000 heads-up championship required Cody to advance through repeated one-on-one matches against a strong field, culminating in his victory over Timoshenko.
His broader record also demonstrates success in large-field Main Events and conventional multi-table no-limit hold’em tournaments. The EPT Deauville, WPT London and SHRPO Championship victories came in different stages of his career but required deep runs through substantial tournament fields.
More recently, official Seminole Hard Rock coverage has described Cody as concentrating more on cash games while making selective tournament appearances.
⠀
Career Earnings and Tournament Record
As of September 16, 2026, Hendon Mob lists Cody with $5,191,077 in live tournament earnings and a career-best live cash of $1,213,193.
His tournament earnings are spread across results dating back to 2009, but three early victories account for much of his historical reputation: EPT Deauville, WPT London and the WSOP Heads-Up Championship.
The 2025 SHRPO Championship added $510,850 to that record, while his $93,900 Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown victory earlier that year showed that the championship was not an isolated return to the winner’s circle.
Hendon Mob also records additional tournament cashes during 2026, including appearances at World Poker Tour events in Florida and a May 2026 cash in Nottingham, England.
⠀
Why Jake Cody Matters in Poker
Cody’s significance comes primarily from the speed and age at which he collected championships across three of poker’s most important tournament brands.
Winning an EPT or WPT Main Event or a WSOP bracelet is a major career achievement on its own. Cody collected all three before his 23rd birthday.
That distinction connected him with the small group of players recognized as poker Triple Crown winners and established a benchmark that remained associated with his career long after his most concentrated period of tournament activity.
His 2025 SHRPO Championship victory added another dimension to that record. Rather than remaining known solely for his early-career run, Cody returned more than a decade later and defeated an 889-entry championship field for another six-figure title.
⠀
Jake Cody’s Current Poker Status
Cody remains an active poker player, although his tournament schedule is more selective than during the peak years of his early professional career.
Official Seminole Hard Rock coverage surrounding his 2025 championship reported that he had shifted more of his attention toward cash games. At the same time, Hendon Mob records multiple tournament cashes in both 2025 and 2026.
His recent results make it inaccurate to describe him as retired from tournament poker. Instead, Cody remains capable of returning to major tournament fields while maintaining a broader focus that includes cash-game play.
