Leonor “Leo” Margets is a Spanish professional poker player from Barcelona. On her personal website, Margets says she was born in Barcelona in 1983 and studied Business Studies at the University of Roehampton before completing a master's program in communication business management at Universitat Pompeu Fabra.
Margets describes her introduction to poker as almost accidental. After first encountering the game socially, she became interested in studying and competing more seriously. Hendon Mob records her first live tournament cash in 2008.

Breakthrough at the 2009 WSOP Main Event
Margets first gained international attention during the 2009 WSOP Main Event in Las Vegas.
She advanced to 27th place in a field of 6,494 entries and earned $352,832. More significantly, she was the final woman remaining in the tournament, giving her one of the highest-profile performances by a female player in that era of the Main Event.
The result immediately established Margets on the international tournament circuit. She continued recording results across Europe and Las Vegas in the years that followed, including a victory in the 2010 Full Tilt Masters Series in Spain that Hendon Mob records as a €100,000 first prize.

First WSOP Bracelet in 2021
Before winning a bracelet, Margets came close at the 2018 WSOP.
She finished runner-up to Denis Timofeev in the $1,000 Double Stack No-Limit Hold'em event, one of her deepest WSOP runs to that point.
Margets broke through three years later in Event #83: $1,500 The Closer at the 2021 World Series of Poker. The tournament drew 1,903 entries and generated a prize pool of more than $2.54 million.
She defeated Alex Kulev heads-up to win $376,850 and the first WSOP bracelet of her career.
The victory was notable beyond Margets' individual accomplishment. PokerNews reported that she became the first woman to win an open-entry bracelet event at the 2021 WSOP.
