Parker Talbot: The Online Poker Star Known as “tonkaaaa”
POKER HALL OF FAME
Inducted 2014
Parker Talbot has built a poker career that spans high-stakes online tournaments, major European live events, Twitch streaming, and success across multiple poker variants. The Canadian professional, widely known by his online name “tonkaaaa,” became one of poker streaming’s most recognizable personalities while also developing a tournament résumé that includes major online championship titles and more than $2.3 million in recorded live earnings.
As of September 28, 2026, Hendon Mob lists Talbot with $2,380,363 in live tournament earnings and a career-best live cash of $360,193. His results combine a long history of online success with increasingly prominent live performances, including his first live tournament victory at the 2024 Irish Open.
⠀
Who Is Parker Talbot?
Parker Talbot is a Canadian professional poker player, online tournament specialist, and poker streamer. He is best known in online poker as “tonkaaaa,” a screen name closely associated with his Twitch broadcasts and tournament career.
Hendon Mob lists Talbot as a Canadian player residing in Toronto, Ontario. His recorded live results date back more than a decade, while his online career has produced significant success in No-Limit Hold’em and mixed-game tournament formats.
Talbot also became closely associated with PokerStars through his streaming and ambassador work. After an earlier period representing the site, PokerStars announced his return to Team Pro in 2021. PokerStars continued featuring Talbot in its Team Pro content and major online-series coverage in subsequent years.
⠀
Parker Talbot’s Poker Career
Talbot developed much of his reputation online before his biggest live results arrived. PokerStars reported in 2021 that he had accumulated more than $6.7 million in online tournament cashes at that point, including more than $5.5 million on PokerStars.
His online results have included major victories in some of PokerStars’ most established tournament series. Talbot won his first World Championship of Online Poker title in 2020 and continued adding WCOOP victories over the following years.
By 2024, his online résumé had expanded well beyond No-Limit Hold’em. During that year’s WCOOP, Talbot won five titles in a single series across several different variants.
His 2024 victories included tournaments in HORSE, No-Limit Hold’em, 8-Game, Limit 2-7 Triple Draw, and Badugi. PokerStars reported that the five-title performance brought Talbot to nine career WCOOP titles by the end of the series.
That variety is an important part of Talbot’s poker résumé. Although much of his early public profile came from online No-Limit Hold’em tournaments, his championship results demonstrate experience across a much broader range of games.
⠀
Major Live Tournament Results
Talbot’s live tournament record developed steadily before producing several major scores in the 2020s.
One of his earlier high-profile results came at EPT Barcelona in 2016, where he finished seventh in a €25,500 No-Limit Hold’em event for €160,080.
Two years later, Talbot reached the final table of the 2018 EPT Prague Main Event. He finished sixth for €179,360, establishing one of the largest live scores of his career at that stage.
His results accelerated again beginning in 2022. Talbot finished fifth in the 2022 EPT Prague Main Event for €278,450 and followed that performance with another deep run in Barcelona in 2023, finishing seventh in the Estrellas Poker Tour Main Event for €105,590.
Career-Best Score at EPT Paris
Talbot recorded his largest live tournament cash in February 2024 at EPT Paris.
He reached heads-up play in the €2,200 France Poker Series High Roller after navigating a field of 1,794 entries. Henrik Juncker ultimately won the tournament, while Talbot finished second for €334,180.
Hendon Mob converts that result to $360,193, which remains Talbot’s largest recorded live tournament cash as of September 28, 2026.
The Paris result also continued a period in which Talbot was repeatedly reaching major live final tables without securing a live tournament victory.
⠀
First Live Tournament Win at the 2024 Irish Open
That changed in March 2024.
Talbot won the €5,000 High Roller 8-Max at the Irish Open, defeating a field of 111 entries and earning €134,279. PokerNews reported the victory as the first live tournament win of his career.
The result came only weeks after his runner-up finish in Paris and ended a run of more than a decade of recorded live tournament cashes without a victory.
Talbot defeated Ireland’s Fergal O'Cathain heads-up to secure the title. The final table also included Padraig O'Neill and Bert Stevens.
The victory gave Talbot an important live accomplishment to complement an online résumé that already included numerous major tournament titles.
⠀
Strong 2024 Live Results Continue
Talbot continued producing major live results after the Irish Open victory.
At the 2024 WSOP Main Event in Las Vegas, he finished 308th for $45,000.
Later that summer, he reached the final table of the €1,100 Estrellas Poker Tour Main Event at EPT Barcelona. The tournament drew 7,138 entries, and Talbot finished fourth for €227,000.
He also finished runner-up in the $2,200 Maryland State Poker Championship Main Event in 2024 for $73,719.
Those results helped push his career live earnings beyond the $2 million mark.

Parker Talbot’s Online Poker Accomplishments
Talbot’s online tournament record remains central to his poker identity.
WCOOP Success
Talbot entered the 2024 World Championship of Online Poker with four career WCOOP titles and produced one of the strongest series of his career.
He won five events during WCOOP 2024, giving him nine career WCOOP victories by the conclusion of the series.
Among those wins was the World Championship of HORSE, where Talbot defeated an 88-entry field. He also won a $1,050 No-Limit Hold’em progressive knockout event and a $10,300 8-Game High Roller.
The five victories were particularly notable because they came across multiple variants rather than a single specialty.
SCOOP Titles
Talbot has also won multiple Spring Championship of Online Poker titles.
During SCOOP 2025, he captured two titles to bring his career total to three. His victories that year included a $530 Limit Hold’em event and a $530 Badugi event.
The results added to his reputation as a player capable of competing successfully in mixed games as well as No-Limit Hold’em.
⠀
WSOP Record
Talbot has accumulated numerous cashes in World Series of Poker events but has not won a WSOP bracelet as of September 28, 2026.
The WSOP player database lists him with zero bracelets and zero WSOP Circuit rings.
His WSOP record includes a cash in the 2024 $10,000 Main Event, where he finished 308th for $45,000.
A bracelet therefore remains one of the major championship achievements not yet present on his tournament résumé.
⠀
Playing Style and Poker Strengths
Talbot is primarily associated with tournament poker, but his results show considerably more range than the label of No-Limit Hold’em specialist would suggest.
His WCOOP victories across HORSE, 8-Game, Badugi, 2-7 Triple Draw, and No-Limit Hold’em provide objective evidence of mixed-game experience. His SCOOP results reinforce that versatility.
Talbot has also spent years playing and discussing tournament poker publicly through streaming. That visibility has given viewers regular exposure to his decision-making process, tournament preparation, and reactions to high-pressure situations.
Rather than relying on a single format, his record reflects a player comfortable competing in both large-field Hold’em tournaments and technically demanding mixed-game events.
⠀
Streaming and Influence on Online Poker
Talbot’s significance in poker extends beyond tournament results.
His Twitch channel under the “tonkaaaa” identity helped establish him as part of the generation of professional players who brought online tournament poker to a live streaming audience.
Streaming allowed viewers to follow complete tournament sessions rather than only edited television hands or final tables. Talbot became known for combining high-level tournament play with an informal broadcasting style that attracted a large online following.
PokerStars later incorporated that audience and streaming experience into its ambassador programs. Talbot has also participated in PokerStars educational content, tournament-series leagues, and live-event media.
His career therefore sits at the intersection of professional poker, online competition, streaming, and poker education.
⠀
Parker Talbot’s Live Tournament Earnings
Hendon Mob lists Parker Talbot with $2,380,363 in live tournament earnings as of September 28, 2026.
His largest recorded live cash remains the $360,193 equivalent of his €334,180 runner-up finish in the 2024 FPS High Roller at EPT Paris.
Live tournament earnings are continually changing as players enter and cash in additional events, so career totals should be treated as a snapshot rather than a permanent figure.
⠀
Parker Talbot in 2026
Talbot remained active in major live poker events during 2026.
Hendon Mob records cashes at the 2026 Irish Open and PokerStars EPT Barcelona. His most recent listed live cash as of September 28, 2026 came in the €5,300 EPT Barcelona Main Event, where he finished 128th for €13,100 on August 22.
He also cashed the €825 PokerStars Open Cup in Barcelona two days earlier.
Those results show that Talbot continues to compete on the European tournament circuit while maintaining the online and content-creation presence that has defined much of his career.
⠀
Why Parker Talbot Matters in Poker
Parker Talbot represents an era in which a professional poker career can extend well beyond traditional live tournament results.
He first built much of his public reputation through online poker and streaming, then expanded his résumé with WCOOP championships, mixed-game success, major European final tables, and eventually a live tournament title.
His five-title performance at WCOOP 2024 demonstrated his ability across several poker variants, while his 2024 live results showed that his success was not limited to online play.
With more than $2.3 million in recorded live earnings, nine WCOOP titles through the end of 2024, three career SCOOP titles after the 2025 series, and continued tournament activity in 2026, Talbot remains an established figure in modern tournament poker.
