Punnat Punsri: Six-Time Triton Champion and 2025 GPI Player of the Year
POKER HALL OF FAME
Inducted 2014
Punnat Punsri has emerged as one of the leading high-stakes tournament players of his generation, building a résumé that includes six Triton Poker titles, the 2025 Global Poker Index Player of the Year award and more than $39 million in recorded live tournament earnings.
The Thai professional has become especially prominent on the international super high roller circuit. His biggest results span Triton Poker, the World Series of Poker, the Asian Poker Tour and European Poker Tour festivals, with major scores recorded across Asia, Europe and the United States.
As of October 19, 2026, The Hendon Mob lists Punsri with $39,460,460 in live tournament earnings, the most of any Thai player in its database. These figures are recorded gross tournament cashes, before buy-ins and other expenses. Tournament earnings and rankings change as new results are recorded.
⠀
Who Is Punnat Punsri?
Punnat Punsri is a professional poker player from Thailand who specializes in live tournament poker, particularly high roller and super high roller events.
The Hendon Mob lists his nationality as Thai and his residence as Bangkok, Thailand. His recorded tournament results date to 2014, but his international profile rose sharply beginning in late 2021 and 2022 as he started producing major results against elite high-stakes fields.
His career expanded quickly from successful appearances in Asia to regular competition at the WSOP, PokerGO Tour and Triton Poker. By the middle of the decade, Punsri had established himself as a fixture in some of the highest-buy-in tournaments in the world.

Punnat Punsri's Breakthrough in High-Stakes Poker
Punsri's international breakthrough accelerated in 2022.
Early that year, he won consecutive $10,000 PokerGO Tour high roller events in Las Vegas. He then made several deep runs at the 2022 World Series of Poker, including a third-place finish in the $50,000 High Roller for $593,481 and a runner-up finish in the $1,979 Poker Hall of Fame Bounty for $170,615.
The defining result came later in 2022 at Triton Poker Cyprus.
Punsri won the $100,000 No-Limit Hold'em Main Event, defeating a 99-entry field for $2.6 million. The victory was his first Triton Poker title and established him as a major competitor on the super high roller circuit.
PokerNews' coverage of the Triton Cyprus Main Event lists Punsri as the champion ahead of runner-up Wayne Heung, with Wiktor Malinowski, Henrik Hecklen and Jason Koon also reaching the final table.
⠀
Six Triton Poker Titles
Triton Poker has become the tour most closely associated with Punsri's rise.
After his 2022 Cyprus Main Event victory, he captured his second Triton title in March 2024 in Jeju. Punsri won the $50,000 No-Limit Hold'em 7-Handed event for $2.01 million after defeating Sergio Aido heads-up in a 190-entry tournament.
His third Triton title arrived in March 2025, again in Jeju. Punsri defeated a 93-entry field in the $125,000 No-Limit Hold'em 7-Handed event and earned $2,594,555 following a heads-up deal with Christoph Vogelsang. Triton Poker's official report documented the victory.
Punsri continued adding trophies during 2025 and entered 2026 with five career Triton victories.
In March 2026, he won a $30,000 mixed Pot-Limit Omaha/No-Limit Hold'em event in Jeju for $504,000. The victory gave him his sixth Triton title. PokerNews reported that four of those six victories had come in South Korea by that point.
The six-title total also illustrates Punsri's development beyond No-Limit Hold'em. His 2026 mixed-game victory followed growing activity in Pot-Limit Omaha events at Triton festivals.
⠀
2025 GPI Player of the Year
Punsri reached another career milestone by winning the 2025 Global Poker Index Player of the Year race.
The Global Poker Index confirmed Punsri as the 2025 GPI Player of the Year with 4,458.06 points, narrowly finishing ahead of Jesse Lonis.
The award made Punsri the first Asian player to win the overall GPI Player of the Year title.
His 2025 season included approximately $11 million in live tournament earnings and results across Triton Poker, the WSOP, EPT, APT and WPT-related events. GPI also credited him with Thailand's National Player of the Year honor for the fifth consecutive year.
The award reflected more than one major score. Punsri combined tournament victories with consistent deep runs across several tours and continents throughout the calendar year.
⠀
Punnat Punsri's Largest Live Tournament Cash
Punsri's largest recorded live tournament cash is $3,107,000.
He earned that prize for finishing third in the $200,000 Luxon Invitational at Triton Poker London in 2023. The result remains larger than any of his individual tournament victories, including his multi-million-dollar Triton wins in Cyprus and Jeju.
That London finish came during a period in which Punsri became increasingly established against elite invitational and super high roller fields.
⠀
Asian Poker Tour Success
Punsri's résumé also contains significant success closer to home in Asia.
He has competed extensively on the Asian Poker Tour and won the 2023 APT Taipei Main Event. His results include tournament victories and final tables in locations including Taiwan, South Korea, Vietnam and the Philippines.
The Asian circuit remained part of his schedule even after he became a regular in six-figure international high rollers.
During August 2026, for example, Punsri recorded multiple strong results in South Korea. Hendon Mob lists victories in a $40,000 single-day high roller at the K Poker Cup and the KRW 35 million Superstar Challenge at APT Incheon during that month.
⠀
WSOP Results and Bracelet Pursuit
Despite numerous deep World Series of Poker runs, Punsri had not won a WSOP bracelet as of September 16, 2026.
His current WSOP player profile lists zero bracelets and zero WSOP Circuit rings.
Punsri has nevertheless come close several times.
At the 2024 WSOP, he finished second in the $5,000 8-Handed No-Limit Hold'em event for $523,648. Earlier bracelet near-misses included third place in the 2022 $50,000 High Roller and second place in the 2022 Poker Hall of Fame Bounty.
His 2026 WSOP season included a sixth-place finish in the $3,000 Mid-Stakes Championship for $250,110. At WSOP Europe in April 2026, he finished runner-up in the €8,400 GGMillion$ High Roller for €400,000.
Those results have made the WSOP bracelet one of the notable major honors still absent from an otherwise extensive tournament résumé.
⠀
Tournament Earnings and Rankings
As of October 19, 2026, Hendon Mob lists Punsri with $39,460,460 in career live tournament earnings and a largest cash of $3,107,000.
The database also lists him:
First on Thailand's all-time live tournament money list
24th on the worldwide all-time money list
With more than $7.6 million in recorded live earnings during 2026 through the latest listed results
These figures should be treated as time-sensitive because tournament earnings and rankings change whenever new results are added.
Punsri's earnings have grown rapidly. Much of that rise has come through high roller and super high roller events where individual final-table finishes can produce seven-figure payouts.
⠀
Punnat Punsri's Playing Style
Assigning a simple label to Punsri's playing style can be misleading because much of his success has come against sophisticated high-stakes opponents across different tournament formats.
His results establish him primarily as a high-level tournament specialist with extensive experience in deep-stacked No-Limit Hold'em and increasing success in Pot-Limit Omaha and mixed NLH/PLO competition.
In a 2025 interview with PokerNews, Punsri described paying close attention to what other elite players were doing at the table and trying to understand their thought processes. That approach fits a career in which he has repeatedly returned to the same elite high roller fields while expanding into additional formats.
His six Triton victories and repeated final-table appearances provide more objective evidence of his effectiveness than any single stylistic label.
⠀
Why Punnat Punsri Matters in Poker
Punsri's significance extends beyond the size of his tournament earnings.
His 2025 GPI Player of the Year victory made him the first Asian player to earn the award, giving Thailand a prominent place in one of tournament poker's major annual ranking races.
He has also become one of the most successful players associated with Triton Poker. Six titles by March 2026 placed him among the tour's leading multiple-time champions.
Punsri's international success has coincided with the continued expansion of major tournament poker in Asia. His regular participation in APT and Triton events has made him a particularly visible representative of Thai poker on the global circuit.
⠀
Punnat Punsri in 2026
Punsri remained highly active throughout 2026.
His season included a sixth Triton title in March, a fifth-place finish in the Triton Jeju $100,000 Main Event for $1,146,000, several significant cashes in Montenegro, a WSOP Europe high roller runner-up finish and a WSOP final table in Las Vegas.
He continued competing in South Korea during the summer and returned for Triton Poker Jeju II in September.
At that festival, Punsri finished third in the opening $15,000 Triton 8-Handed event for $302,000 and fourth in the $40,000 Mystery Bounty for $229,000 in regular prize money, excluding any separate bounty awards. He also entered the $100,000 Main Event but was eliminated during Day 2 before the money.
Those September results show that Punsri remains an active presence in the world's major high-stakes tournaments rather than a player whose reputation rests primarily on earlier accomplishments.
