Shannon Shorr: Two-Time WSOP Bracelet Winner and 2025 U.S. Poker Open Champion
POKER HALL OF FAME
Inducted 2014
Shannon Shorr has built one of the most consistent tournament records of his generation, combining four World Series of Poker bracelets with major victories at the Bellagio Cup, Poker Masters, U.S. Poker Open and WSOP Circuit.
Shorr spent years near the top of poker's tournament rankings before finally breaking through for his first WSOP bracelet in 2023. He won a second bracelet less than two weeks later, then added another major career milestone in 2025 by winning two U.S. Poker Open events and capturing the overall series championship.
As of September 5, 2026, The Hendon Mob lists Shorr with $17,349,260 in live tournament earnings and a career-best cash of $960,690. His tournament record includes results through July 2026, confirming that he remains an active competitor.
⠀
Who Is Shannon Shorr?
Shannon Shorr is an American professional poker player associated with Birmingham, Alabama. The Hendon Mob lists his nationality as United States and his residence as Birmingham.
His tournament career emerged rapidly in 2006. Shorr finished fourth in the Aussie Millions Main Event for A$271,700 and later that year produced the largest recorded score of his career by winning the $10,000 Bellagio Cup II Championship.
That Bellagio victory came against a 324-entry field and paid Shorr $960,690. The result established him as a major tournament threat early in his career and remains his largest recorded live cash.
Shorr's career has centered largely on no-limit hold'em tournaments, ranging from large-field championship events to high-stakes PokerGO Tour competition. His results span the WSOP, World Poker Tour festivals, Poker Masters, U.S. Poker Open, WSOP Circuit and other major series.
⠀
Shannon Shorr's Early Tournament Breakthrough
Shorr's rise during 2006 came quickly.
At the Aussie Millions in Melbourne, he reached the final table of the Main Event and finished fourth. Later that summer in Las Vegas, Shorr won the Bellagio Cup II $10,000 No-Limit Hold'em Championship for $960,690.
Those performances arrived near the beginning of his recorded live tournament career and gave him substantial success before many players accumulate years of experience on the tournament circuit.
The Bellagio Cup result became particularly important because Shorr continued producing significant finishes for nearly two decades afterward rather than disappearing after an early breakthrough.
⠀
How Many WSOP Bracelets Does Shannon Shorr Have?
Shorr won his first two WSOP bracelets in the 2023 domestic online series. Card Player's October 2026 report, which includes Shorr's own announcement, identifies two later online mystery-bounty titles in 2025 and 2026, bringing his total to four.
Both came during the 2023 WSOP Online domestic series:
2023 — $2,000 No-Limit Hold'em 6-Max — $89,126
2023 — $1,000 No-Limit Hold'em Freezeout — $35,539
The first bracelet ended one of the more notable bracelet droughts among established tournament professionals. Shorr had accumulated a long record of WSOP cashes and final-table appearances before finally winning WSOP gold.
Just 10 days after securing his first bracelet, he won the $1,000 No-Limit Hold'em Freezeout for his second.
The rapid turnaround changed an unusual part of Shorr's résumé. After years of significant tournament success without a bracelet, he suddenly owned two before the 2023 online series had finished.
⠀
Shannon Shorr's WSOP Circuit Success
Shorr has also added WSOP Circuit titles to his record.
The WSOP currently lists him with two Circuit rings.
One of his biggest Circuit victories came in March 2025, when he won the $1,700 WSOP Circuit Main Event in Las Vegas for $207,615.
That victory came immediately before one of the strongest stretches of Shorr's career. Less than three weeks later, he began a dominant run at the 2025 U.S. Poker Open.
⠀
2025 U.S. Poker Open Championship
Shorr's performance at the 2025 U.S. Poker Open added one of the most important titles of his career.
The series was played at the PokerGO Studio at ARIA Resort & Casino in Las Vegas. Readers planning poker trips to the property can also review the ARIA Resort & Casino Poker Room Guide.
Shorr won two tournaments during the eight-event series.
He first captured Event #5, a $10,100 No-Limit Hold'em tournament with 76 entries, for $220,400.
Four days later, he won the $25,200 No-Limit Hold'em series finale. Shorr defeated a 73-entry field and earned $529,250.
Those two victories gave him $749,650 in series earnings and enough leaderboard points to become the 2025 U.S. Poker Open champion.
The PokerGO Tour awarded Shorr the Golden Eagle trophy and a $25,000 PGT Passport for winning the series championship.
The performance was significant even within Shorr's long career. He did not simply cash repeatedly to win the leaderboard; both of his cashes were victories.
⠀
Poker Masters and Other PokerGO Tour Success
Shorr had already established a record of success in PokerGO Tour events before his 2025 U.S. Poker Open championship.
In September 2021, he won the opening $10,000 No-Limit Hold'em event of the Poker Masters. The tournament attracted 82 entries, and Shorr defeated David Peters heads-up to earn $205,000.
He added another PokerGO title in March 2022 when he won the opening $10,000 No-Limit Hold'em event of the U.S. Poker Open.
That tournament produced 93 entries and a final table that also included Ren Lin, Masashi Oya, Daniel Negreanu, Erik Seidel and Joseph Cheong. Shorr defeated Lin heads-up and earned $213,900.
By the end of the 2025 U.S. Poker Open, PokerGO Tour reported that Shorr had accumulated six PGT titles, 19 final tables and 28 cashes.
His repeated success in these events has made high-stakes no-limit hold'em an important part of his modern tournament résumé.

Shannon Shorr's Career Earnings
According to The Hendon Mob, Shorr had $17,349,260 in recorded live tournament earnings as of September 5, 2026.
His largest recorded live tournament cash remains the $960,690 he earned for winning the 2006 Bellagio Cup II Championship.
The earnings figure should be viewed as a changing career statistic rather than a permanent total. Shorr continues to play tournaments, meaning additional results can increase his recorded earnings.
The Hendon Mob also lists Shorr first on Alabama's all-time tournament money list and among the top 100 players on its worldwide all-time money list as of the same date.

Why Shannon Shorr Matters in Tournament Poker
Shorr's career is notable for longevity as much as individual victories.
His first major results arrived in 2006, yet nearly two decades later he was still winning major tournament series and competing regularly against high-stakes fields.
His résumé now combines several different markers of tournament success:
Four WSOP bracelets, all won online
Two WSOP Circuit rings according to the WSOP
2025 U.S. Poker Open series championship
Six PokerGO Tour titles as reported after the 2025 U.S. Poker Open
Poker Masters and U.S. Poker Open event victories
Bellagio Cup II Championship victory
More than $17.3 million in recorded live tournament earnings
The progression of his career is also unusual. Shorr became a prominent tournament professional long before he won his first WSOP bracelet. When the breakthrough finally came in 2023, he quickly converted it into two bracelets during the same online series.
His 2025 U.S. Poker Open championship reinforced that his strongest results were not limited to the early years of his career.
