Forrest was already recording live tournament results by the early 1990s. Hendon Mob lists his earliest recorded cash in August 1991, when he finished third in a Seven Card Stud Hi-Lo event at the Diamond Jim Brady tournament series in California.

Ted Forrest’s Six WSOP Bracelets
Forrest added two more bracelets during the 2004 WSOP, more than a decade after his three-win breakthrough.
He first won the $1,500 Seven Card Stud event, defeating a field of 258 entries for $111,440. Later in the same series, he captured the $1,500 No-Limit Hold’em event. Those victories brought his career bracelet count to five and showed that his tournament success extended beyond the mixed and stud formats most closely associated with his reputation.
His sixth bracelet arrived in 2014.
Forrest won the $1,500 Razz event at the World Series of Poker, defeating a 352-entry field and earning $121,196. The final heads-up opponent was Phil Hellmuth, who was attempting to win what would have been his 14th bracelet at the time.
Forrest overcame multiple chip deficits during a heads-up match that lasted more than four hours. The victory gave him his sixth bracelet and his first WSOP title since 2004.

In June 2025, Forrest also cashed at the World Series of Poker, finishing 33rd in the $1,500 Pot-Limit Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better bracelet event for $6,773. Three months earlier, he recorded a cash in a WSOP Circuit mixed Omaha Hi-Lo/Stud Hi-Lo event in Las Vegas.
Those results fit the pattern of a career that has remained closely connected to split-pot and mixed-game formats.
Forrest has also remained part of the Poker Hall of Fame conversation. The WSOP named him among the 10 finalists for induction in 2025.
