Chino Rheem Wins PGT Sprint Opener for $119,600

Chino Rheem won the opening event of the 2026 PokerGO Tour Sprint at the PokerGO Studio in Las Vegas, taking $119,600 from the $5,300 no-limit hold’em tournament. The event drew 92 entries and built a $460,000 prize pool, according to the tour’s official result.
Rheem takes the first Sprint lead
The victory gave Rheem 179 PGT points at the start of the seven-event series. Four $5,300 tournaments open the schedule, followed by three $10,500 events; the Sprint runs through November 4. Those points also count toward qualification for the season-ending PGT Championship.
Rheem defeated Andrew Lichtenberger heads-up. Lichtenberger earned $75,900 as runner-up. Fourteen players cashed, and the prize pool exceeded $450,000. The result is Rheem’s 10th PGT title, according to Card Player.
What comes next
The next $5,300 Sprint event is scheduled for October 28. Rheem’s early lead is a result of one completed tournament, not a series title; six events remain. The official PGT event report has the full result and upcoming schedule.
