Tips for Players Attending the MSPT Festival

⠀

Review the Main Event Structure Before Entering

A tournament's starting stack, blind levels, and late-registration window all influence how much play a participant receives for the entry fee.

Players unfamiliar with tournament structures can review Blinds, Antes & the Dealer Button Explained before the festival.

⠀

Plan Around the Published Starting Flights

Once MSPT releases the Main Event schedule, players should compare starting flights and advancement rules rather than assuming the format will match a previous festival.

Those planning to enter multiple events should also check for overlapping tournament start times.

⠀

Understand Re-Entry Rules

Re-entry policies affect the total cost of playing a tournament.

Before registering, players should confirm whether additional entries are permitted, when registration closes, and whether any tournament-specific limitations apply.

⠀

Arrive With Enough Time for Registration

Tournament players should allow time for travel, parking, locating the tournament area, and completing registration.

The busiest Main Event starting periods can make advance planning especially useful.

⠀

Final Outlook

The January 5–10, 2027 MSPT Festival at Ameristar East Chicago is a confirmed stop on the tour's calendar, with a $300,000 guaranteed Main Event serving as its centerpiece.

Previous festivals have established Ameristar as a regular MSPT destination in the Chicago-area poker market.

For prospective participants, the most important next step is reviewing the official tournament schedule when the complete event listing becomes available. Buy-ins, starting flights, registration deadlines, and structures should be confirmed before committing to a particular event.

The official MSPT website remains the primary source for tournament announcements and updated festival information.
