Elgin Inn

Elgin Inn is best understood as a practical drive-to hotel for poker players visiting Elgin rather than a casino-resort lodging option. The hotel is not on property, connected, or walkable to a poker room. Players should plan to drive or use rideshare for any casino or tournament trip.

The closest meaningful poker-related destination is Grand Victoria Casino Elgin, which is roughly a short drive from the hotel. That makes Elgin Inn useful for players attending an Elgin casino event, a temporary tournament series stop, or a multi-day poker trip where lower room rates and free parking matter more than being attached to the venue.

For early tournament starts, the short drive is manageable, but players should build in extra time for parking, casino entry, and local traffic. For late-night sessions, rideshare may be the safer and more convenient choice if the session runs deep into the night.

Food access is better than at some limited-service hotels because the property lists breakfast access and an on-site restaurant, while additional suburban dining options are available by car nearby. Players who want immediate casino dining should expect to eat at Grand Victoria or nearby Elgin restaurants rather than rely entirely on the hotel.

The main value is location plus parking: the hotel sits near I-90, includes complimentary on-site parking, and can work well for players driving in from the Chicago suburbs, Rockford area, Wisconsin, or northwest Indiana. The main drawback is that it does not serve any currently confirmed Angry Aces Poker Room Guide as a close or highly practical lodging option. Ameristar East Chicago is an existing Angry Aces poker room, but Elgin Inn is not a practical hotel for that room because it requires a long cross-metro drive rather than a local casino stay.
