Harrah’s Resort Atlantic City

Atlantic City, NJ

Harrah’s Resort Atlantic City is a large casino resort in Atlantic City’s marina district, separate from the Boardwalk hotels but close to several major gaming destinations. The property is built around a full-service resort experience, with hotel towers, casino gaming, dining, nightlife, spa services, meeting space, and one of Atlantic City’s best-known indoor pool environments.

For poker travelers, the biggest advantage is convenience to the on-property Harrah’s Atlantic City poker room and tournament area. Players staying here can return to their room between levels, avoid rideshare delays before early tournament starts, and stay close to the casino after late-night cash sessions. The resort also works reasonably well for players who want access to the broader marina-district poker scene, especially Borgata, which is a short drive away.

Rooms vary by tower and booking class, so players planning a longer tournament stay should compare room type, tower location, resort fees, parking costs, and cancellation terms before booking. The property’s dining mix, casino floor, pool, and nightlife make it more self-contained than many off-site hotels, but players who want the beach and Boardwalk within walking distance should understand that Harrah’s is a marina-district stay rather than a Boardwalk stay.

Why Players Like This Hotel

Harrah’s Resort Atlantic City is most practical for players whose primary poker destination is Harrah’s Atlantic City itself. The poker room and casino are on property, which makes the hotel especially useful during WSOP Circuit stops, multi-flight tournament series, early Day 1 starts, and long cash-game sessions that can run late into the night.

The hotel can also serve players who plan to split time between Harrah’s and Borgata. Borgata is nearby in the marina district, but it is not a normal walking trip for most poker players, especially at night or after a long session. Treat Borgata as a short-drive or rideshare destination rather than a walkable room. That makes Harrah’s useful for players who want a Caesars Rewards property with quick access to its own poker room while still being close enough to reach Borgata by car.

Boardwalk-area poker and casino destinations are less convenient from Harrah’s. Players planning most of their sessions at Boardwalk casinos should compare Boardwalk hotels instead, because Harrah’s requires transportation for those trips. The tradeoff is that Harrah’s offers strong on-property convenience, a large resort footprint, multiple dining options, and easier room access during tournament breaks when the event is held at Harrah’s.

Food access is a strength because players do not need to leave the property for meals between sessions. Parking should be treated as a paid casino-resort cost and checked at booking, especially for multi-day tournament stays. For late-night poker, staying on property is a major practical advantage: players can avoid waiting for a rideshare after a long session and return directly to their room. The main drawback is location. Harrah’s is excellent for Harrah’s-based poker trips and useful for marina-district poker, but it is not the most convenient base for players focused on the Atlantic City Boardwalk.
