Marriott's Grand Chateau

Marriott's Grand Chateau works best as a central Strip base for players who expect to move between several poker rooms rather than play exclusively at one property.

ARIA is one of the most practical poker destinations from the hotel. Allow roughly 12–14 minutes on foot under normal conditions, with additional time possible for pedestrian crossings and the walk through the resort to the poker room. That is close enough for early tournament starts and convenient enough that most players will not need a car or rideshare for routine trips.

Bellagio is similarly practical at roughly a 10–15 minute walk depending on the route and final destination inside the resort. Its poker room therefore gives Grand Chateau guests another realistic option for both cash sessions and tournament play without arranging transportation.

MGM Grand is approximately a 14-minute walk, while Horseshoe Las Vegas is roughly 15 minutes on foot. Both remain realistic walking destinations for most players. Horseshoe is especially relevant during major poker periods because the property is home to the Hall of Fame Poker Room and the World Series of Poker. MGM Grand also operates a 24-hour poker room.

The Venetian is farther north. A practical walking estimate is about 25 minutes, so it is outside the range most players will want to walk repeatedly before early starts or after a long session. Taxi or rideshare is the better option, with the actual door-to-door time depending heavily on Strip traffic and pickup locations. Wynn is farther again at roughly a 30-plus-minute walk and should normally be treated as a rideshare or taxi destination from Grand Chateau.

That positioning still makes the hotel useful for players splitting time between central Strip rooms and tournament action at The Venetian or Wynn. It is not as convenient for those northern properties as staying on-site, but the central location makes short vehicle trips reasonable while preserving easy walking access to ARIA, Bellagio, Horseshoe and MGM Grand.

For multi-day poker trips, the villa layouts are a major advantage. Full kitchens and washer/dryers in select villas can reduce restaurant and laundry dependence during longer series, while the smaller guest-room layouts still include kitchenette features. The hotel also avoids the long casino-floor walk required at many Strip resorts.

Food access is good but differs from a full casino resort. The Marketplace is useful for coffee, snacks and quick food before a tournament, and the property has additional casual outlets, but players wanting extensive late-night dining will generally rely on the surrounding Strip resorts and restaurants.

Parking is a drawback for players bringing a vehicle. Marriott currently offers valet only at $25 per day rather than complimentary self-parking. Players primarily using nearby poker rooms may find walking and rideshare more convenient than repeatedly retrieving a vehicle.

Another meaningful value point is the absence of a resort fee. Rates still vary substantially with Las Vegas demand, but eliminating a nightly resort charge can make Grand Chateau competitive with casino hotels whose advertised room prices do not reflect their full mandatory nightly cost.

The main trade-offs are that there is no casino or poker room on property, on-site late-night dining is more limited than at a large casino resort, and Venetian or Wynn players will normally want transportation. For players prioritizing space, kitchens, laundry capability, no resort fee and access to several different Strip poker rooms, however, Marriott's Grand Chateau is particularly well suited to longer and multi-room poker trips.
