Waldorf Astoria Las Vegas

palazzo where to stay.jpeg

Las Vegas, NV

Waldorf Astoria Las Vegas is a luxury, non-gaming and smoke-free hotel in the CityCenter area of the Las Vegas Strip, immediately beside The Shops at Crystals and close to several major casino resorts. The location gives guests access to the Strip without requiring them to stay inside a casino, making the property a quieter alternative to the large gaming resorts surrounding it.

The hotel offers renovated rooms and suites with floor-to-ceiling windows, city or Strip views and deep soaking tubs. Property amenities include a full-service spa, fitness center, an eighth-floor pool deck with pools and cabanas, concierge service and meeting facilities.

Dining includes Zen Kitchen, the grab-and-go Zen Cafe, Peacock Alley and Hard Shake, along with poolside service and 24-hour in-room dining. The Shops at Crystals and the extensive dining choices at ARIA are also immediately nearby.

For poker travelers, the central location is particularly useful because ARIA is only a short walk away, while Bellagio and MGM Grand are also realistically reachable on foot. Other major Strip poker destinations, including Horseshoe, The Venetian and Wynn/Encore, are farther away but remain accessible by rideshare, taxi or the hotel's complimentary house-car drop-off service within its published service radius.

Why Players Like This Hotel

Waldorf Astoria Las Vegas works best for poker players who want a quiet luxury hotel while remaining close to several of the Strip's major poker rooms. It is especially practical for players splitting a trip among multiple properties rather than playing exclusively at one casino.

ARIA is the easiest poker destination from the hotel. The resorts sit beside one another in the CityCenter area, and a practical trip from Waldorf Astoria to the ARIA Poker Room is generally about a 5–10 minute walk once the route through the resort is included. That makes the hotel particularly convenient for early tournament starts and late cash-game sessions because a car is normally unnecessary.

Bellagio is another realistic walking destination. Allow roughly 15–20 minutes in practical conditions because the Bellagio Poker Room is inside the resort on the north side of the casino near the sportsbook. The free ARIA Express/CityCenter connections can also be useful for moving toward Bellagio, although total travel time depends on the route and wait.

MGM Grand is also within reasonable walking range, generally around 15–20 minutes to the property before allowing for indoor casino navigation. Its 24-hour poker room makes the location useful for players who want another nearby cash-game option without relying entirely on transportation.

The Hall of Fame Poker Room at Horseshoe Las Vegas is farther north. Walking is possible for players comfortable with a longer Strip walk, but rideshare or taxi is the more practical choice when carrying tournament gear, arriving for an early event or returning late at night.

The Venetian Poker Room, located on level 2 of the Grand Canal Shoppes at The Palazzo, and the Wynn Poker Room at Encore are too far north to treat as routine walks from Waldorf Astoria. Rideshare or taxi is recommended. Waldorf Astoria also currently provides complimentary house-car drop-off service within two miles on a first-come, first-served basis, which can make both properties more convenient when the service is operating and available. Players should not rely on the house car for a guaranteed tournament arrival because availability is not assured.

Food access is strong for a multi-day poker trip. Zen Kitchen and Zen Cafe provide morning options, the hotel offers 24-hour in-room dining, and ARIA and The Shops at Crystals add numerous nearby choices. That combination is useful for both early tournament mornings and meals after a late session.

Drivers should budget for parking. Waldorf Astoria does not currently offer self-parking and published booking information lists paid valet parking. Between room rates, the nightly resort charge and valet, this is not a budget poker hotel. Its value comes instead from the central Strip location, quiet non-gaming environment, high-end rooms and ability to reach several poker rooms without changing hotels.

For a multi-day poker trip centered on ARIA with possible sessions at Bellagio, MGM Grand, Horseshoe, The Venetian or Wynn, Waldorf Astoria is a strong location-first luxury option. The principal drawbacks are its premium pricing, mandatory nightly resort charge, valet-only parking and the need for transportation when playing farther north at The Venetian or Wynn.
