Who Is Brian Kim?
Brian Kim is an American poker player known for competing in high-stakes tournaments as well as cash games. PokerNews has described him as a longtime presence at Commerce Casino in the Los Angeles area before his tournament volume increased significantly during the 2020s.
The Hendon Mob lists Kim's birthplace as Diamond Bar, California, and his current residence as Sydney, Australia. PokerNews has also identified Walnut, California, as his hometown.
Kim's recorded live results date to October 2010, when he finished second in a Heartland Poker Tour Main Event in Oklahoma for $46,219. He made his first recorded WSOP Main Event cash in 2012, finishing 499th for $24,808.
⠀
Brian Kim's Early Tournament Career
Kim accumulated tournament results gradually through much of the 2010s while building a reputation in Southern California poker.
One of his first major WSOP breakthroughs came in 2019. Kim reached heads-up play in the $1,500 Limit Hold'em event at the World Series of Poker, finishing second to David "ODB" Baker for $99,564. Official WSOP results show that the event attracted 541 entries.
The performance demonstrated Kim's ability outside the no-limit hold'em high-roller events that would later become a major part of his tournament schedule.
His WSOP Main Event results also began to improve. After cashing in 2012 and 2018, Kim returned to the money in 2021 and then made a deep run in 2022.
⠀
2022 WSOP Main Event Run and First Bracelet
Kim finished 23rd in the 2022 WSOP Main Event, earning $323,100 from a field of 8,663 entries. At the time, it was the largest recorded live tournament cash of his career.
Later that year, Kim added his first WSOP bracelet.
He won the 2022 WSOP Online $5,300 No-Limit Hold'em High Roller for $119,000. The tournament generated a $425,000 prize pool, and Kim defeated Aram Zobian heads-up for the title. PokerNews' event results identify Kim as the winner and confirm the bracelet victory.
The bracelet established Kim as a WSOP champion and came during the same period in which his live high-stakes tournament schedule began expanding.
⠀
Rise Into High-Stakes Poker
Kim's results accelerated sharply from late 2022 onward.
He finished fourth in the 2022 WPT Five Diamond World Poker Classic at Bellagio for $377,000. The World Poker Tour's official player record lists that result among Kim's WPT finishes and records no WPT Main Tour victories.
By 2023, Kim had become a regular in Triton Poker's super high roller fields.
At the Triton Poker Super High Roller Series in Vietnam, he earned $271,000 for third place in a $15,000 no-limit hold'em event and $441,000 for fourth in a $30,000 event. He later collected another $216,000 in the $100,000 Main Event.
Kim followed those results with another major score in Cyprus in May 2023, finishing second in a $50,000 Triton event for $920,000.
The run established a pattern that continued through 2024: deep finishes against some of the strongest and most accomplished high-stakes tournament players in poker.

Brian Kim's 2024 Triton Poker Results
The 2024 season produced several of the largest scores of Kim's career.
In March, he finished third in a $53,000 Triton Poker event in Jeju for $954,000. Two months later in Montenegro, another runner-up finish produced a $609,000 payday.
Kim then added the most visible result of his career at the World Series of Poker.
⠀
2024 WSOP Main Event Final Table
Kim reached the final table of the 2024 WSOP Main Event after navigating a field of 10,112 entries, which was the largest Main Event field at that time.
He entered the nine-player final table with 94.6 million chips, the second-largest stack.
Kim ultimately finished seventh for $1.5 million. That payout remains his largest recorded live tournament cash as of September 21, 2026.
The 2024 WSOP Main Event results show Jonathan Tamayo winning the championship, with Kim finishing seventh after being eliminated by Niklas Astedt.
The result also continued an unusually consistent record of Main Event success. Kim had previously cashed in the championship in 2012, 2018, 2021 and 2022, including his 23rd-place finish in 2022.
⠀
First Triton Poker Title
Kim added another major career milestone in November 2024 when he won the $25,000 WPT Global Ultimate Slam at the Triton Poker Super High Roller Series in Monte Carlo.
The tournament attracted 170 entries and generated a $4.25 million prize pool. Kim defeated Enrico Camosci heads-up to capture the title and $941,000.
The victory was Kim's first Triton Poker title and pushed his recorded live tournament earnings beyond $10 million. PokerNews' Triton coverage confirms the $941,000 first-place payout.
Winning on the Triton circuit added an important championship result to a résumé that already included numerous second-, third- and fourth-place finishes in major high-roller tournaments.

Brian Kim's Playing Profile
Kim's tournament record shows experience across several forms of competitive poker rather than specialization in a single narrow format.
His WSOP résumé includes deep runs in both no-limit hold'em and limit hold'em, while much of his recent success has come in high-stakes no-limit hold'em tournaments. He has also competed extensively in the Triton Poker Super High Roller Series, where buy-ins frequently reach five and six figures.
Kim's background at Commerce Casino adds a cash-game component to that résumé. Rather than assigning a subjective style label, his documented results show a player capable of competing successfully in large-field championships, online bracelet events, traditional limit hold'em and small-field super high rollers.
⠀
Career Earnings and Largest Cash
As of September 21, 2026, The Hendon Mob lists Brian Kim with $12,853,887 in live tournament earnings.
His largest recorded live cash is the $1.5 million he earned for seventh place in the 2024 WSOP Main Event.
Those figures do not necessarily represent a player's poker profit because tournament databases track recorded cashes rather than buy-ins, expenses, swaps, backing arrangements or cash-game results. They are best viewed as a record of documented tournament payouts.
⠀
Brian Kim's Recent Poker Results
Kim remained active after his 2024 Main Event final table and Triton victory.
In May 2025, he finished second in the €50,000 Super High Roller Second Chance at PokerStars EPT Monte-Carlo for €521,000. He also cashed for $311,000 in the $200,000 Triton Invitational in Montenegro.
Later in 2025, Kim recorded two eighth-place finishes during the Triton Poker Super High Roller Series in Jeju, including an eighth-place finish in a $150,000 event worth $530,000.
His recorded results continued into 2026. The Hendon Mob lists Kim finishing 47th in the $1,100 Arizona State Poker Championship in August 2026 for $11,202.
Those results indicate that Kim remains an active live tournament player, although his schedule and volume can vary from year to year.
⠀
Why Brian Kim Matters in Poker
Kim's career stands out for the combination of Main Event consistency and high-stakes results.
Reaching the final table of a 10,112-entry WSOP Main Event would be a defining result by itself, but Kim entered that tournament with an established record that already included a bracelet, a deep Main Event run in 2022, a WPT final table and multiple Triton Poker scores.
His subsequent Triton victory reinforced that the 2024 Main Event run was part of a broader high-level tournament career rather than an isolated result.
Kim has now produced significant results in traditional WSOP events, online poker, WPT competition, PokerGO Tour events, European Poker Tour high rollers and the Triton Poker Super High Roller Series.
