POKER HALL OF FAME
Inducted 2014

Pete Chen is a Taiwanese tournament player whose achievements include a World Poker Tour title and success in World Series of Poker bracelet events. His record spans online competition, major Las Vegas tournaments and festivals across Asia.

He also appears in tournament records as Yen Han Chen, Chen Yen Han and Pete Yanhan Chen. Those name variations refer to the same player and matter when following results across different organizers.

WPT Beijing Breakthrough

Chen won WPT Beijing in April 2017. The World Poker Tour’s official report records a field of 400 entries and a winning package of CNY 2,063,454, reported at the time as $299,485. That award included a $15,000 seat in the season-ending WPT Tournament of Champions.

He took more than half the chips into the final table and retained the lead through the finish. The title established him as a WPT Main Tour champion.

World Series of Poker Results

At the 2017 WSOP, Chen finished second in the $5,000 No-Limit Hold’em event for $382,122. His PokerNews career record also documents third place in the 2023 $400 Colossus for $216,320.

His first bracelet came online in the 2021 $400 Ultra Deepstack, which paid $82,559. It was a separate achievement from his live WSOP final tables.

In 2026, he finished runner-up in the $5,000 Super Turbo Bounty for $395,664. These results show repeated deep runs across different entry levels and tournament structures.

TMT Championship Mini Main Victory

The CTP Club payout sheet records Yen Han Chen as the 2026 TMT Championship Mini Main winner. The October 21 result earned him TWD 1,160,000 in Taipei.

That title belongs to the festival’s Mini Main, rather than its separate championship Main Event.

Following Chen’s Career

Chen combines live tournament play with online competition and public poker content. His WPT Global biography identifies him as Yen Han “Pete” Chen and describes his poker and travel videos.

Individual tournament payouts are gross returns. They do not establish profit after buy-ins and travel costs, or personal net worth.
