Inducted 2014

Vitalijs Zavorotnijs is a Latvian tournament poker player whose major results include the 2019 WPT Barcelona Main Event championship and a title at the 2026 Poker Masters. His record spans European tournament festivals and high-buy-in events in Las Vegas.

⠀

A breakthrough year in Europe

Zavorotnijs won the 2019 OlyBet Kings of Tallinn Main Event for €85,300, a result recorded in PokerNews’s player archive. Less than a month later, he won the €3,300 WPT Barcelona Main Event at Casino Barcelona.

The World Poker Tour’s official championship report records 1,227 entries and a €600,000 first-place package, including a $15,000 Tournament of Champions seat. The victory made him the first Latvian WPT Main Event champion and brought him into the WPT Champions Club.

World Series of Poker results

His tournament record also includes deep WSOP finishes. PokerNews lists 71st place for $117,710 in the 2019 WSOP Main Event and fourth place for $240,707 in the 2024 $2,500 No-Limit Hold’em event. These cashes are separate from his WPT championship record.

Poker Masters success

At the 2026 Poker Masters, Zavorotnijs won the $10,500 no-limit hold’em Event 4 for $224,000. The official PGT recap records 80 entries and identifies the result as his second PGT victory.

He returned to heads-up play in the same series on October 21, finishing second in the $15,700 Event 8 for $176,400. The official event result confirms that finish. Together, those two results produced $400,400 in gross tournament awards at that point in the series; they do not represent net profit.
