Lucas Jumalon Named WSOP Academy Global Ambassador

The World Series of Poker named Lucas Jumalon global ambassador for its WSOP Academy app on October 27. The reigning Main Event champion will visit Circuit stops around the world and help select a player for a seat in the 2027 WSOP Main Event.
The WSOP announcement sets out a program that combines poker instruction, in-person meet-up games and tournament entries. It makes Jumalon's role more than a name attached to an app: he will meet players at Circuit events and mentor the eventual Main Event recipient.
How the WSOP Academy tour will work
At each stop on the season-long tour, Jumalon is scheduled to host a meet-up game for WSOP Academy customers. One participant at each stop will receive a complimentary seat in that stop's WSOP Circuit Main Event, according to the WSOP. At the end of the tour, Jumalon will choose one player from those meet-up winners for a seat in the 2027 $10,000 WSOP Main Event under his mentorship.
The first announced stop is November 13 at Dusk Till Dawn in Nottingham, England. The WSOP said further details on joining the meet-up game and subsequent tour dates will follow. It also plans to document the tour for its official YouTube channel.
From Main Event champion to mentor
Jumalon won the 2026 WSOP Main Event in August, earning $10 million after defeating a field of 9,208 entries. The 22-year-old now moves into a public-facing role tied to the WSOP's effort to introduce players to the game.
For prospective participants, the immediate question is how to enter the Nottingham meet-up game; the WSOP had not published those details in its October 27 announcement. The available prize is a tournament seat at each Circuit stop, while only the player Jumalon selects at the end of the tour is slated to receive the 2027 Main Event entry.
