Malaysia Wins 2026 WPF Asian Nations Cup in Taipei

Malaysia claimed the team title at the 2026 WPF Asian Nations Cup in Taipei, finishing ahead of host Taiwan in the results reported by Somuchpoker on October 23.
The report credits Malaysia with 73 final-stage points, including a five-point bonus, and eight seats to the TMT Championship Main Event. Taiwan finished second on 61 points.
National teams compete across formats
Nine teams took part, according to Somuchpoker. Heads-up play, no-limit hold’em multi-table tournaments and bounty tournaments contributed to an opening stage that sent four teams to the final day.
The Philippines and Thailand finished level on 49 points in the final standings. The Philippines took third through the tiebreaker, which turned on the single-table tournament results.
Part of Taipei’s championship week
The World Poker Federation’s event announcement placed the competition at Asia Poker Arena during the TMT Championship program. National-team scoring gives this title a different structure from an individual Main Event victory.
