Poker Dream 26 Malaysia: Dick Son Looi Claims MYR685,000
Dick Son Looi won MYR685,000 and the Poker Dream 26 Malaysia Main Event title on October 19, 2026, topping a 1,266-entry field at Resorts World Genting in Genting Highlands.
The organizer’s payout list places Guoliang Wei second for MYR458,116. The championship concluded on the final day of the October 8–19 festival.
Two Different Titles at Genting
The victory adds to Looi’s earlier success at the same venue. In January, he won the MYR1,000 Malaysia Open at Poker Dream 20, collecting MYR278,800 from a field of 1,530 entries.
That January result was a Malaysia Open championship, not an earlier Main Event title. October’s MYR685,000 award was larger, even though the Main Event’s 1,266-entry field was smaller. Somuchpoker’s Malaysia Open results document the earlier win.
Ten Flights Build a MYR4.64 Million Pool
Event 38 ran October 15–19. The current organizer schedule lists ten starting flights with buy-ins of MYR3,200 or MYR4,800, depending on the flight. The combined field generated MYR4,640,116 in prize money, exceeding the MYR4 million guarantee. There were 175 paid finishing positions.
The entry count includes tournament entries rather than a verified count of unique players. With different buy-in levels offered, the field should not be described as though every entry cost the same amount.
Wei’s Bracelet-Winning Background
Wei brought a WSOP title to the final matchup. He won the $1,111 Little One for One Drop in Las Vegas in 2018 for $559,332, according to the official WSOP report. His runner-up result in Malaysia added another substantial final-table cash to that record.
Somuchpoker’s on-site recap reports Looi’s heads-up victory. The result and monetary figures above were checked against the organizer’s current schedule and payout records; amounts are presented in Malaysian ringgit without an exchange-rate estimate.
