Hun Wei “Andy” Lee won the A$2,500 Victorian Poker Championship Main Event at Crown Melbourne on October 27, collecting A$350,000 after defeating Joe Hachem heads-up.

The tournament drew 715 entries and generated an A$1,573,000 prize pool. PokerNews’ final event report lists 89 paid places and Hachem’s runner-up payout at A$210,000.

Lee closes the tournament with pocket jacks

The final hand began with Hachem raising the button to 1.6 million. Lee moved all in from the big blind, and Hachem called with ace-five against Lee’s pocket jacks.

Hachem moved ahead when an ace landed on the flop. The queen on the turn changed nothing, but a jack on the river gave Lee a set and ended the tournament. Hachem finished second, adding another major result at the Melbourne property where he built much of his early poker career.

Victorian Main Event draws 715 entries

The Main Event was the centerpiece of the 2026 Victorian Poker Championship, which Crown Melbourne scheduled from October 12 through October 27. Four opening flights fed into the A$2,500 championship event.

The 715-entry turnout produced an A$1,573,000 prize pool, with A$350,000 reserved for the winner. Tournament payouts are gross returns and do not represent profit after buy-ins, travel or other expenses.

Another major Crown victory for Lee

Lee’s victory followed his A$652,670 win in the A$25,000 Challenge at the 2026 Aussie Millions, also held at Crown Melbourne. That 98-entry high roller remains the larger single payout, while the Victorian title came against a much larger field.

The result adds another no-limit hold’em title to a résumé that also includes a 2020 WSOP Online Pot-Limit Omaha bracelet and a 2017 WSOP Circuit ring. Lee’s two major Crown wins in 2026 came less than six months apart.
