Peng Huang Tops 1,082 Entries to Win KPC Main Event
Peng Huang won the 2026 KPC Poker October Series Main Event on Friday, October 16, at LES A Casino in Jeju, South Korea. The player from Guangdong finished first from 1,082 entries and earned KRW 171,873,000.
The KRW 1,300,000 buy-in tournament generated a KRW 1,215,303,000 prize pool. KPC's completed report and SoMuchPoker's event recap identify Hongjun Zhao as the runner-up for KRW 120,000,000.

A 1,082-entry victory in Jeju
Huang reached the final table with the chip lead. That position mattered in a tournament that paid 125 places, but the title still required him to close against a field that had produced one of the largest prize pools on the October series schedule.
The payout was the actual reported first-place award. It should not be read as poker profit or personal wealth: tournament results record gross prizes without accounting for buy-ins, travel, backing arrangements or other costs.
How the heads-up match ended
Zhao held ace-king in the last hand, while Huang had king-queen. The board left Zhao ahead until a queen arrived on the river, giving Huang the pair that settled the tournament.
The finish completed Huang's run from final-table leader to champion. It also separated the result from an advertised first prize or an unfinished live update: the event was complete, the finishing order was confirmed and both heads-up payouts were reported.
A birthday milestone for a KPC regular
SpadePoker's corroborating report noted that Huang secured the title on his birthday. The detail added a personal milestone to a result that already stood out on scale: more than 1,000 entries and a nine-figure prize in Korean won.
Huang was not making his first appearance on the tour. SoMuchPoker's player profile records a 62nd-place finish in the July 2026 KPC Main Event, which drew 1,692 entries. The October win marked a substantial step from a cash to an outright Main Event championship.
