Ryoichi Katsumata Wins WPT Seoul Warm Up for KRW 42 Million

Ryoichi Katsumata won the KRW 700,000 Championship Warm Up at WPT Seoul on Sunday, November 1, earning KRW 42 million after topping 353 entries at INSPIRE Hotel & Casino in Incheon, South Korea.
The three-flight no-limit hold’em event generated a KRW 213,494,400 prize pool, more than double its KRW 100 million guarantee. The result gave Katsumata one of the first headline titles of the 2026 World Poker Tour festival in Seoul.

The official WPT Seoul schedule recorded 150 entries in Day 1A, 165 in Day 1B and 38 in Day 1C. The survivors returned for Day 2 on November 1, when Katsumata secured the title and the KRW 42 million first prize.
WPT Seoul listed the completed event with a KRW 213,494,400 prize pool. The available official result did not identify the runner-up or publish a complete final-table payout list at the time of publication, so those details are omitted pending confirmation.
Championship Warm Up clears its guarantee
The Championship Warm Up carried a KRW 100 million guarantee across its three opening flights. The final prize pool exceeded that figure by more than KRW 113 million, giving the festival an early field-size benchmark before its main championship begins.
The Warm Up used a 40-minute blind structure on Day 2 after organizers corrected an earlier player-guide listing. The event awarded its title on the third day of the 11-day festival.
WPT Seoul continues through November 9
WPT Seoul runs from October 30 through November 9 at INSPIRE Hotel & Casino. The remaining official festival schedule includes the Mystery Bounty, Super High Roller Warm Up, Deepstack High Roller and the WPT Seoul INSPIRE Championship.
Katsumata’s KRW 42 million award is a gross tournament payout. It does not represent profit after buy-ins, travel or other expenses.
