The final table included several accomplished high-stakes players, including Jason Koon, Phil Ivey and Bryn Kenney. Mateos eventually defeated Kenney heads-up for the title.
The victory was Mateos' second-largest live tournament score and made him the youngest player to win six WSOP bracelets. The accomplishment added another age-based record to a résumé that had already included becoming the youngest three-time bracelet winner in 2017.

EPT Success and Major European Titles
Mateos' 2015 EPT Grand Final victory remains one of the defining titles of his career.
He entered the record books as Spain's first EPT Main Event champion after defeating Muhyedine Fares heads-up in Monte Carlo. The victory came less than two years after his WSOP Europe Main Event championship and confirmed that his early success was not limited to one tournament series.
