Texas Card House Houston has increased its security coverage.

Texas Card House Houston has added an extra security guard “at all times” after robberies at other Houston-area poker rooms, PokerNews reported on November 2. The Houston club was not among the venues robbed.

PokerNews reported that at least four rooms in the area had been targeted in recent weeks. Its account identified Capri Poker Club in Webster, Spades Poker House in Baytown and Empire Poker Club among the affected venues. Those incidents are separate from the security change at Texas Card House.

Added coverage at the Houston club

The extra guard is intended to protect the business and its players, according to the report. Texas Card House’s location page lists Houston as one of its Texas clubs and shows the location open around the clock.

The report also said the operator increased security at its Dallas location for reasons unrelated to the Houston-area robberies. No change at another Texas Card House location is established by the available reporting.

What remains unconfirmed

The available reporting does not establish that the separate robberies were connected. This initial account does not identify suspects, describe police charges or assign a motive. Further verified developments can be added to this article.
