Sam Soverel Wins PGT Sprint Event 5 for $195,200

Sam Soverel won Event #5 of the 2026 PGT Sprint at PokerGO Studio in Las Vegas, collecting $195,200 from the $10,500 no-limit hold’em tournament.
The event drew 61 entries and built a $610,000 prize pool, with nine places paid, according to the PokerGO Tour’s official recap. The title was Soverel’s fifth PGT win of 2026 and record-extending 18th overall.
Soverel closes the final table
Soverel entered the seven-player final table with the chip lead. He reached heads-up play against David Coleman with a roughly four-to-one lead and ended the match on its second hand, the PGT reported. Coleman earned $122,000 for second.
The victory earned Soverel 195 PGT points and moved him into the top 10 of the tour’s 2026 standings at the time of the official recap. The $195,200 figure is a gross tournament payout, not profit after buy-ins and other expenses.
PGT Sprint continues
Event #5 was the first $10,500 buy-in on the PGT Sprint schedule after four $5,300 tournaments. The remaining events continue at PokerGO Studio. The tour’s live reporting page carries the results as they are finalized.
